Exciting news for Sterling!
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news for our friends in Sterling and across Kansas! KMW, a leading manufacturer of agricultural equipment, announced a major investment in the state.
Here’s the rundown:
- KMW to invest $105 million in a new North American headquarters and state-of-the-art production facility in Sterling, Kansas.
- This project will create 251 new jobs, boosting the local workforce to 485.
- KMW chose Sterling after considering locations across the Midwest. The new facility on a 151-acre site will allow them to expand their manufacturing capabilities.
This investment is a win-win for everyone involved.
- Governor Kelly highlighted the project’s positive impact on the economy and rural communities.
- KMW CEO Wayne Buchberger praised the strong partnership between KMW, Agrostroj Pelhrimov (KMW’s parent company), Sterling, Rice County, and the State of Kansas.
- Lt. Governor David Toland emphasized Kansas’ commitment to supporting businesses like KMW.
- Sterling Mayor Richard Jones Jr. and Sterling City Manager Ian Hutcheson expressed their excitement about KMW becoming an even bigger part of the community.
“Kansas fought hard to win KMW’s investment because of the company’s global reputation as a high-quality ag equipment manufacturer, and because we know our strengths as a state will ensure KMW’s success as it expands in North America,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “This economic development win in Rice County shows that the Kelly-Toland Administration means business when it comes to delivering new jobs and investment throughout all of Kansas.”
KMW is a great company with a strong track record. They’ve been around for 30 years, delivering top-notch loaders, backhoes, and attachments. This expansion will allow them to serve their customers even better.
This project is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. It’s a great example of how collaboration can lead to positive outcomes for businesses, communities, and the entire state.
We’re proud to welcome KMW to Sterling and look forward to seeing their continued success in Kansas!
